Arabic Ligatures

Until now,

I have been unable to get Arabic ligatures to appear correctly in
MSOMAC2004.


Are there specific fonts, which I should be using? Are there some sort of
system wide settings that I should be tweaking? Or is it that there is not
full Unicode support in MSOMAC2004?

As I understand it, MacOffice supports only the left-to-right parts of
Unicode. For Arabic, you're probably best off using Mellel.
