arabic word files in macintosh?

Is there no way to read windows arabic word files in macintosh?

Use Google Groups to search the NGs microsoft.public.mac.office.word and
microsoft.public.mac.office for "arabic" "hebrew" and "right to left" in the
subject line (3 separate term searches on microsoft.public.mac.*, should
produce all relevant info). People have suggested various workarounds for
these problems.

If anybody has new information they have posted before, please share....

For OS X 10.2, the latest version of Mellel can display Unicode Arabic, and
claims to be able to open .doc and .rtf files.

For OS 9 (and OS X), you could try the Java application ThinkFree Write,
which claims to read and save .doc files. I don't know if it displays
right-to-left properly.
