Hi
I can't seem to get my head through Infopath security and publishing.
I'd like to have Infopath forms tied to domain logins, such as say people
from the service department cannot access forms meant for project managers,
or department heads. And forms should not be opened at all if the user
attempting to is not logged in with his domain account. At least two of the
forms meant for service people should offer offline functionality so I
figure they must be distributed by mail, rather than being published say on
a Sharepoint site (correct me if I'm wrong.. I'd rather have one centralized
form and the locally stored copies would be updated whenever a person is
online). Also, the forms will need at least ADO access, and running an
installer to give a form the proper security clearance and do that each time
on every machine once a form is updated gives me a headache just from
thinking about it, so I'm looking for a straightforward solution here as
well.
The SDK got me more confused than enlightened when reading through the
email/shared location publishing. Is it possible to have your form published
on a shared location, but still allow people to use it offline in some way?
Anyway, after 2 days of reading I still have more questions than answers so
any light you could shed on my questions would be much appreciated.
Regards
Stephan
