Hello,
As Project Server 2010 will include a lot of "servers" : SQL Server,
SharePoint Server, Exchange server, Portfolio server... what would be the
best distribution of all these software within 2 machines?
Thansk for your help.

Xiao:

Although Project Server 2010 integrates with Exchange, you wouldn't want to
call this an "included" software. In order to run Project Server 2010 you
must also have the Enterprise version of SharePoint Server 2010, which comes
with a raft full of goodies like Excel Services, PerformancePoint Services,
SecureStore Service, just to name a few. For a two-machine setup, the best
approach is to Install only the required service applications you need to
run Project Server and only those you intend to use beyond that from the
SharePoint stack on a front-end server and install SQL on the other box. You
can grow your farm later by adding machines and distributing applications.

Hello Xiao,

That's a great question and no real answer. ha! I am assuming you want this
for development, testing and learning, and not so much for production.

Here is a suggestion for two computers (servers).
1) Small Business Server 2008, which has AD, DNS, Exchange. SBS has SQL but
I would
2) Windows Server 2008 R2, with SQL 2008 R2, SharePoint 2010, Project Server
2010.

Cheers to you my good friend!
