ARCHIVE FOLDER NOT RESPONDING

I RECIEVE ABOUT 50 E-MAILS A DAY WHICH I USE TO AUTO ARCHIVE AS QUITE OFTEN I
NEED TO CHECK BACK ON MANY OF THEM - I'VE STOPPED ARCHIVING THEM AS I CAN'T
GET INTO THE ARCHIVE FOLDER THE COMPUTER FREEZES AND I EITHER HAVE TO WAIT 10
MINS OR END THE PROCESS - THEN IT TAKES ABOUT 10 MINS FROM RE-STARTING
OUTLOOK TO WHEN IT ACTUALLY APPEARS ON SCREEN. IF I DO GET IN I'M LUCKY TO
GET 2 MINS BEFORE IT FREEZES AGAIN.

HAS ANYBODY ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM? AND HOW DO I REMEDY THIS
