Not quite sure I understand what you are asking, so I am going to make an
assumption that you are asking is it possible for Outlook's archive feature
to run thru the archive PST file. The answer is no. The archive engine
does this...
Primary/secondary PST files -> Archive based on AutoArchive
Archive PST files -> Requires human intervention to keep clean
However keep in mind that you could create a new mail profile that has the
Archive PST file as it primary file and then configure autoarchive settings
to purge items out of it. I honestly wouldn't do this and figure out a
scheme on when to replace the archive pst file based on retention settings.
(e.g. lets say that archive files are based on the year a message is
received. So my 2010 archive would contain all items received in 2009. A
2009 archive would contain items from 2008, .etc.
