One of our users had autoarchiving set up to archive of items to the
archive.pst file.
For some reason all of a sudden the Inbox in the archive folder was only
showing items up to a few months old. I decided to remove the data file and
then re-add it, thinking that perhaps forcing this refresh will bring the
full list of items back , but all it achieved was bringing everything back
(including several user created folders) except the Inbox (ie. The Inbox does
not appear at all – let alone the items in it).
I’ve tired recovering the archive.pst file from several backups going back
several weeks, but when I attempt to add any of those as a data file it tells
me that the file was not closed property and is being checked for errors. It
then adds the folder but once again will have the entire contents except the
Inbox.
Any thoughts on why the Inbox wont restore and how I can resolve this?
