Archive renames itself

I have a user who regularly maxes out his archive file. To avoid this, we
archive his emails by year. The current year's archive is the standard
Archive.pst. At the end of each year we rename the file (ex. last year's
file is now "Archive04.pst" and shows up in Outlook as "Archive Folders 04").
Unfortunately, the current year's archive periodically resets itself to the
default "Archive Folders" within Outlook.

I have found this problem documented elsewhere but have never seen an
explanation or work-around. Any suggestions?

Outlook always gives the display name "Archive Folders" to the current global default archive file. I guess Microsoft figured that would be helpful for the casual user.
