I have seen questions about exporting/archiving emails by dragging them to the desktop folders, but what I would like to do is archive events. I tried dragging them to a folder, but that just created a bunch of ICS files. I want something similar to an outlook archive that one can reload and view old dates, then close. Is that possible?

I suggest a second archive Identity. You just switch Identity to view old
data.

You're wanting something like a personal folders file (.pst) from
Outlook. Keep in mind that Outlook is the *only* application that uses
..pst files. That feature isn't a standard and it's not shared by any
other E-mail client.

When in Entourage use Entourage's way... Use the File --> Export command
to export just your local calendar events. You'll have the option to
delete what is archived or leave the messages in your calender. If you
apply a category such as "2007 events" to all your 2007 calendar items
that you want to export and delete then this will archive and remove old
events.

Hope this helps!
