Archiving not reducing size of Outlook.pst

I had one Outlook.pst file with all my mail in it, around 700 MB.

I used Outlook 2007 TR2's auto-archiver, to archive my mail.

An archive file was created that is around 600 MB.

Still my Outlook.pst file is 700 MB, shouldn't most of that been moved into
the Archive.pst?

Tools -> Mailbox Cleanup -> View Mailbox Size says my local data is 40 MB.
