Archiving Old Projects but Not Deleting them

We are a production company and generate quit a few MS Project files in a
short amount of time. We need to save each file for around 3-4 months after
they are complete so that we can run different kinds of analysis on them.
How can we archive these so that we don't see them in project when we go to
open a file. We have a long list of completed files that we no longer care
to see but would like to run macro's on them from time to time.

Please help me learn how to archive these so we don't see them anymore in
the open dialog box of project. I know how to get rid of them on PWA but not
out of the project open dialog box.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Jeremy

Create a new category (let's call it Hidden Projects).

Associate this category with all groups that have permission to open
projects in Project Pro.

For each of these groups, set the Open Project permission to Deny for the
Hidden Projects category.

Add all "Archive" projects to the Hidden Project category.

Thank you Reid,

Without sounding stupid..... what do you mean by create a new category. Are
you talking about Enterpirse Project Outline Code or something else?

I think I know what you are talking about in category now but how do you add
it. I have been looking around PWA and can't seem to figure it out.
