Archiving Projects for later use

Using MSP2003ent

Archiving a completed project. Would this be correct or a good idea:
when a project is completed, run a save-as and store the project local to
keep the project just incase it will be needed again. This way the project
is not visible to Project Pro or PWA users. If I need the project I could
just open from local, run a file, save-as and re-name. This will also add
macros. Will this work??

Well, I sure wouldn't do it this way. What about Risks, Issues, or Document
associated with the project? If you think you will need to view project
data for completed/closed projects at any time in the future, a better way
to archive is the process documented in the following FAQ:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/ProjectServerFAQKnowledgeBase/ArchiveCompletedProjects.aspx

Please note that the archiving process we documented is a workaround to the
lack of formal achiving capabilities in the software. If you are interested
in a true archiving tool, you might consider purchasing the Physical Archive
Tool, available at the following URL:

http://www.projectmadeeasy.com/archive.htm

Hope this helps.
