Are 2003 Access Samples really Templates?

Hello,

I want to create a sales database, and the Customer Contact "Sample"
database would work just fine. Is the sample the same as a template however?
I want to be able to share the information I gather with others and I also
want to upload the information into 2007 Access once I upgrade. My fear is
that if it's merely a "sample" the information will remain 'sample' and
generally useless outside of my little 'sample' database. Thanks for any
thoughts!!!

Best,

The sample databases provided in previous versions of Access were complete
databases. The concept of "templates" didn't really exist until Access 2007.
