Are all Masters, Orphans?

When a master is dropped on a drawing from a stencil, a copy of the
master is created on the document stencil. Once on a drawing, is there
any way to find out which stencil the master comes from or is it orphaned?

There is no information about the original stencil the master came from, so
you could call it an orphan.
