So, I am using my grilfriend's Mac iBook G4 while my PC gets repaired.
I was entering data into Excel for my Masters and accidently entered
new data into a couple of boxes with data already in them, wiping out
those numbers. I wasn't sure which ones I had changed, making all my
data suspect, and since I thought that I had just saved my info, I
figured the easiest thing to do would be to quit, hit 'don't save' and
then reopen, which I thought would bring up the file as it was before I
entered the incorrect data.
Except...
Turns out that I hadn't saved for a long time. I guess I got too caught
up in my work and a lot of time had passed. Anyway, autosave was on,
but since I shut the fiile myself, it didn't reopen to the latest saved
version.
My question is: When Excel autosaves, does it create a new file
somewhere, and, if so, does that file still exist soomewhere on the
hard drive (I know how to find it on the PC, but not a Mac).
Please help!
Cheers!
