Are references saved with a document?

Hi. I have just created a Word 2003 template that has a button to send
an email. To get the code to work I had to turn on the Microsoft
Outlook 11.0 Object Library reference. The code is based on this
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/InterDev/SendMail.htm.

I now want to distribute this file to other users on standalone
computers. Do they also need to turn on this reference or is it saved
with the document?

If not...is there a better way to do this besides creating a basic
template? The people I'm distributing this to are not very computer-
savvy, so I'm concerned about having them play around in the VB
editor.

Doug Robbins - Word MVP

If you are using the word "template" in the way that is understood by Word,
that is a .dot or .dotm file, and the users save that file in the user
templates, folder, the reference to the Outllook 11.0 Object Library will be
retained in the template.
