The definite answer is, maybe. The dates cannot be viewed directly and I
know of no object property that gives this information even in VBA,
therefore the date must be calculated. There was a thread of discussion
on the project newsgroup (microsoft.public.project) some time back
(maybe within the last 6 to 9 months) wherein the question of how the
summary progress bar dates are calculated. If don't remember the
details, but I believe the calculation is actually based on the summary
line Finish field, not the Start field as one might assume. Try a search
on the above newsgroup. Just like agent Mulder (sp) said, "the formula
is out there somewhere".
