Are there any "functional" type resume templates around?

After having raised a family and worked in a variety of formats and venues,
in common with new graduates, I seek to prepare a professional looking resume
based on skills, experience, etcetera but not in the conventional job
seeker's format that headlines the chronological presentation of employment
history. I am using XP Pro.

Just a thought - I am using Word 2003 and in the "Templates on my computer"
there is a Resume Wizard. It has types of resumes, other than chronological.
If your computer has such a feature check it out, otherwise you might log on
to Google and search for "Resumes".

Most if not all versions of Word have a bunch of Resume templates. (And
since nearly everybody uses Word using Word templatesdoes not show much
originality IMHO--but then again, they may be so ubiquitous that it does not
matter.) The ones that I have seen do seem to be organized to show stuff
chronologically. You don't want to do it that way. Why not just modify one
of those template resumes to fit you? Is this going to be the hardest
challenge of your new career? I expect you want a potential employer to
see that you are great at analytical and problem-solving skills, right? If
you were looking for somebody with your great skils and experience, you
would probably expect him to be able to figure out how to take a simple Word
template and adapt it to his or the organization's needs? You CAN do it!
