are there any known issues using Visio 2007 with office 2003

Can Visio 2007 link with data in Excel 2003 files, or do you need to have
Excel 2007?

are there any known issues using Visio 2007 on the same computer as office
2003, are there any conflicts, converters required, or that sort of thing.
Will I have full complete functionality for Visio 2007 with Office 2003
programs?

Hi Nikki,

I used Visio 2007 with Office 2007 for a few months with no problems.
Visio is still a "more separate" app than Excel/Word/Powerpoint.

Of course, if there are any features in Visio 2007 that are Office
2007-specific, they won't work, but I can't think of any off-hand. (I'm
sure there are one or two, but you won't miss them, since you don't have
Office 2007 yet ! :) )

Are there any particular office-integration features you are worried about?

I'm aware of one issue when trying to use the Database Export wizard from
Visio 2007 to create an Excel worksheet with Excel 2003. You can review
the article and work arounds here :
951450 Error message when you export organization chart data to an Excel
workbook format in Visio 2007: "Microsoft Visio has encountered a problem
and needs to close"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;951450

As far as I know, other integration features such as Data Linking should
work properly in a mixed version install.

I've encountered a significant problem with Visio 2007, Home Edition. Upon
installation on my laptop, running Vista and Office Standard 2003, Windows
locked up into some sort of reboot loop, where Windows was not going to
complete loading. Finally I went to Recovery and got the older version of my
system back. However, I'm very frustrated over the installation issue. I've
repeated the installation and recovery process three times now, and I just
can't get windows to operate with Visio 2007 installed.
Any help available out there?
I'm running a fairly new Dell Inspiron 1525, with plenty of speed & memory.
I update my windows software automatically through MS Update.

That sounds like a problem that is best addressed by direct Tech Support.
If you have your system in a good state, and adding Visio 2007 Standard
(there is no Home edition) to it causes problems, this is not a known
issue. You will be best served by using support, which you can hook up to
via phone or web.

This site will walk you through the options and steps to talk to a support
professional :
