Hi all,
I am using Outlook 2007 on a new computer and have noticed that now
when I reply back and forth with people in a conversation, my Outlook
client continually prepends another "RE:" to the subject line every
time I reply. For example if I write an email with the subject "Hello
world" my friend replies back "RE: Hello world". When I reply a second
and third time we get "RE: RE: RE: Hello world" and on and on. I've
done some testing and the "RE:" only get added after the first one by
my Outlook and not my friend's. At my last job I was using Outlook
2007 having email conversations with the same people and it would only
prepend "RE:" once per conversation.
So what has changed? I using a new computer with a new Outlook 2007
install (now SP1)and a different mail server (different job). I have
set up my Outlook profile on some other computers and I am seeing the
same behavior. Is this a setting on Exchange or is it something I can
configure within Outlook?
I have seen questions like mine around the 'net but nothing exactly
like what I am experiencing and no really good answers.
Please help! The problem this causes is when I want to group emails by
Conversation, Outlook splits up my conversations because they all have
differing numbers of "RE:" in the subject line even though they are
the same conversation and should be grouped together.
Thank you in advance!
Joel
