arrange by settings keep changing

Hi everyone,

I've posted this question here before but I am still getting the problem,
and it is driving me nuts. I have lots of folders and sometimes when I change
the 'arrange by' in one folder it will affect several other (but not all)
folders. I would like each folder to have its own individual setting. Can
anyone help?

Every folder DOES have it's own settings. What version are you using?

I'm not sure you will be able to duplicate my problem. Lets see if I can
clearly describe what is happening. I work in the marketing department of a
large retail company. I get about 50 to 100 emails a day. To manage these I
have rules to send the messages to certain folders. I have created personal
folders because my network folders become too full. I may have some of my
folders sorted by date, some sorted by flag, and some sorted by subject. If I
change one of my folders to another setting, other folders will change to the
same setting that I changed that one.

Like I said, that's not normal operation. You mention "network folders".
What do you mean by that? There was a Microsoft product called "Network
folders" that could be used with Outlook, but it has been obsolete for ages
and doesn't work with Outlook 2003,

You didn't say that. Network folders are folders on a network. I was just
mentioning that because you wanted more background. I just need help to stop
this from happening.

Correct, but I implied it.
Network folders are folders on a network.

You can't have invidual Outlook folders on the network. You can have a PST
on the network, but it's not supported and you run a non-significant risk of
trashing your PST.

Describe the EXACT steps used to duplicate the problem (tell us just what
buttons, menus, and menu items you click and any options you choose in the
dialogue windows) and the location of each data store. (I don't mean you
should give me actual pathnames, but you should say something like, "xyz.pst
is on a network share and abc.pst is on my hard drive. When I modify the
view on folder PQR in xyz.pst, the view on folder HIJ also changes.")
