Anyone know if Project 2000 and Artemis can import/export?
THANKS!

Sheri,

I have been talking to poeple from Artemis about your
problem. We would need to know what version of Artemis you
use.

As Project from version 2000 onwards does no longer
support the MPX format (you can read in MPX files but the
result is definitely wrong) we have written a set of VBA
routines in Project to export nodes and constraints as CSV
files for Artemis 9000 and to read in CSV files produced
by Artemis and to restablish the links in Project.

Another way may be to go via export maps and write Ecxel
files, convert them into CSV files and import them into
Artemis. To import into Project go the same way backwards.
I have not tested it but it should work. But again, you
must find a way to restablish the links in Project (if you
need or want to see them - it depends on if you want to
modify data with Project and then put them back into
Artemis).

In any case you must know the exact format of the nodes
and constraints tables you use in Artemis. And make sure
that the calendars in Project and Artemis are identical.
Further, you may in be in big trouble when you have
resourses in you projects because the computational
engines of the two tools may treat resourses in a widely
different way. You may never be able to see the same
schedule in the two tools.

So, things may be a bit more complicated. Let me know your
Artemis version (send your answer also to the CC) and I
will get an answer from the Artemis people.

Regards,

Juergen
