AS Cube fails to build

Greetings,

We have just launched Project Server 2007. We have one physical server for
the apps and one physical server for the SQL Server including Analysis
Services and Reporting Services.
Even if I narrow the date range to one week the cube fails to build. I ran
it last Thursday night at about 8:30 PM while activity was nill. I checked it
at 12:30 AM and the cube was 50% done. We had a consulting firm help us with
configuration and about a month prior to launching into production the cube
worked fine. No system changes or customizations have been made since the
initial configuration was done in October.
I don't know if its performance only or an error. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.

The 1st thing to check is what error message are you getting, or does it just
hang forever?
Worth working through the troubleshooting errors on Brian Smith's blog re AS
- let us know how you get on.

can you check if you have any event log errors or queue errors regarding the
cube build. if so can you please give us the error message.

Have you got another instance of project server running, configured with the
same cube name ? If so, recreate the repository and reconfigure the 2nd
instance. Also check that only one instance is building to cube at any one
time.
