As I'm typing the font changes and it becomes italicized

As I am typing the font size changes and it becomes italicized all on its own.
How do I stop that from happening. in MS word Thanks

My guess is that you must be accidentally hitting Ctrl+I instead of Shft+I
when type first person I. Ctrl+I toggles the Italic attribute similar to
Ctrl+B does bold and Ctrl+UP does underline.
