Dear Chris

I need to use visio to create an ERD with crows feet in
visio 2000 - I also need it to use datatypes from Oracle
Server. I cannot seem to stop visio insisting that there
is only Access.

Given a clean page, how do you default to Oracle datatypes?
Is it possible to change the entire document to use Oracle
datatypes?

Thanks

I'm looking around the room and everyone's looking at me, since that's my
name.

I have to confess, that I'm a bit of a Database-tard, especially in
Visio-solution-wise.

Are you able to set a new drawing to your Oracle settings at all? I'm not
sure if your question is one of preserving changes or simply getting there
in the first place.

You can create a template after you have messed with settings by saving your
file as a .VST file. Hopefully the db settings come along with the template.
Then you can start with the template instead of Visio's.

The Visio 2003 db diagrams have a driver setting for: Oracle Server. Maybe
it's a matter of upgrading (yuck!!!) I can't remember what 2000 can or can't
do...
