As soon as desktop appears at startup, OneNote is open. Stop it?

When I turn on my computer, OneNote shows up on the desktop. Killing or
suspending it as a process affects only that session. How can I get this to
function like anyother office program, allowing me to be the one deciding
when it will run? I have never used OneNote and at this point all I want to
do is uninstall it.

In Windows XP go to Start, All Programs, Startup. You will find a list of
applications that start when you boot your computer. Right click on the
OneNote entry and select Delete. You should also have a entry for OneNote
Screen Clipper and Launcher. This entry places a OneNote icon in the
Notification area of your Taskbar and enables screen clipping. IMO, you
should leave it. If you choose to remove it, you can always restore by going
to OneNote Tools, Options, Other.

I suspect Vista is similar.

" In Windows XP go to Start, All Programs, Startup"
Startup shows only Adobe Gamma and Adobe Gamma Loader. I would have
expected more to be there.

Thank you for your reply.

If you're referring to the onenotem.exe process, that's the system tray
icon process. The easiest way to get rid of it is to righclick the
OneNote icon in the system tray and select "Remove OneNote Icon". It
will go away and will not come back until re-enabled from within OneNote.

OneNote wasn't in Startup tab of msconfig. I reinstalled OneNote and then I
could remove it from msconfig. I think it will work now.
Thank you.
