ASCMD from Project Server 2007 event handler

I'd like to issue some XMLA commands to add a few things to some of the
Project Server cubes, in the appropriate event handler. One way to do this is
to use ASCMD, a command-line utility available from Codeplex.

Anyone know if this is a good idea? If we don't use ASCMD, the other option
would be to create the AMO code to do the cube customization. Sending XMLA
commands is much easier, though.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

the only way to extend cubes is to use AMO, see this post for an example:
