Asked to Enable Macros Multiple Times

J

Johnny

I have a Word form template that contains macros. I have several people
using the template in which they save it to a file folder after they complete
it then email it to me afterwards.

When I go to open the saved version, I get asked two times if I want to
enable the macros. One of the messages points to the macros in the saved
version and the other points to the template

I have my security settings set to medium so I know I'm always going to be
asked to enable/disable marcos when I open a file and I want to keep it that
way. But I like to know if there is anything I can do to not have the
enable/disable macro pop up come up twice.

Thanks

Hi Johnny,

You're sending people a template, or a document? I might expect what you
describe if you're sending a document, and have copied the macros in the
template to the document...

You could use selfcert.exe to digitally sign the VBA project in your template,
then the macro security warning should only pop up for the document, not for the
template.

If you're sending people a template, there's no way it can be connected to a
template on your system, so that wouldn't be a reason for the macro security
warning to fire twice (and I can't think why it would).
