asking for no reason if I want to save document

Even if I just open a document and do nothing to it, Word 2002 keeps
asking if I want to save it.

It never used to do that before.

How can I stop Word 2002 from asking if I want to save a document to
which I've made no changes?

Thanks!

I should add, it asks this when I try to close the document, not at
random times.

Tools | Options| General and deselect any WordPerfect options. I hope
this has been helpful to you.

Carol suggested I remove all WordPerfect options in Tools General.

I looked and they were not checked.

Other suggestions please! Thanks!!

All it takes is for a macro that is imbedded in the document to perform
some function that changes the document. I often have print headers
that are set to automatically get today's date which then always ask me
if I want to save.
