Asking for Project 2002 or 2003

Ok, I can't get past my spooler error, so I can't update my project
files. So I am trying to figure out a work around.

I have Project Server 2003 and Project 2003 Professional, both with the
same service pack on one server. The only problem I am having is that
when I try to open a project file on the server it is telling me that I
need to use Project 2002 or 2003 to do that. It also says that if I do
have those versions that I should check that enterprise options are
enabled.

Well, they are enabled, because I have been using them from my laptop.
I don't know what is causing this problem or how to fix it.

If I could fix this, then I am prepared to set up a VPN so folks can
access the desktop to use the application instead of going thru the web
interface. Please help.

If you want to ask for help on errors, you need to post the errors. You
should also look at the Server application event log for corresponding
errors and post those. At this point you need to explain the arrangement
you're trying to create. It sounds as though you're trying to let people
terminal into the same server that's running Project Server to use the
application remotely. This would be a flawed approach, if I'm reading your
post correctly.

Gary,

That is the only error I am getting. I'm sorry if my approach is
flawed, but there don't seem to be any other options since I can't get
the application running using a different client. I am at my wits end
and it seems to me that it is my only choice to salvage the work I have
done so far.

Without installing terminal services and a license server for it, you can
only allow users who are local administrators on the box to terminal into
the server. To implement terminal services in a secure way as a virtual
desktop server requires additional setup and licenses. You should not run
this on the Project Server box. If you don't have more server space, setup
an XP workstation for this purpose which limits you to one connection at a
time.
