ASP DCOM

R

Rama

Hi,

I need to access Word97 VBA from ASP pages.

Microsoft suggests using DCOMCNFG tool for
configuring DCOM.

How come DCOM? Web Server accesses WORD VBA
COM Components. It should be COM and not
DCOM. These components are on the web server
itself.

Please let me know why DCOM and not COM.

Hi Rama,
Running Word from a Server is not recommended or supported. Word is designed
to be run from a user account.
