Hi,

I am looking for a better understanding of how this works
when importing data.

I have tried many different combinations of a merge key
when doing this and it is just not working they way I
understand it "should."

Can anyone point me to a reference source on this?
Anyone used this feature in MS Project?

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Stephen H. Dawson

Hi Stephen,

Hello,

I'm sorry to say, but it is not very useful to go on repeating a question
that visibly nobody understands.
As Steve House wrote in an other post, what exactly is "this feature"?
What are you trying to do?

Hello Stephen, hello Yan

I picked up three words in the question :
Assignments ... import data... Merge key
I don't know if I won the forecast of the first three horses, but I try an
interpretation.

If you import data from Excel via a map and you ask for a merge key such as
the ID (bad example) or the Unique ID (good example), the data from ID 10 in
Excel will fall on the ID 10 (or Unique ID 10) in Project.
Some companies use this feature to import actual data from Excel to Project.

Hope this helps,

Gérard Ducouret
