Assign category automatically

I just migrated from Office 2003 to Entourage 2004. In Oulook, I was
able to set a rule to search the subject of events and automatically
assign a category with a corresponding color code. Is this possible
in Entourage?

Yes, Create a new rule:

Criteria:
Subject:

Action:
Set Category

More on Rules here:

FWIW, categories are a great way to reduce the number of rules for contacts
in your Address Book. See example:

Thank you very much for your reply. I guess I did not phrase my question
correctly. The rule I want to make is for calendar events. I have set up
different categories, and would like to automatically color the event to a
certain category automatically. I used to be able to do this automatically
in Outlook 2003. What I have done until I can resolve this issue is "list"
events then do an advanced search, highlight all results then apply the
category. Is there an easier way so that the category and resulting color
is automatically applied as I create an event? For example to automatically
apply the category "vacation" with the set color of green when the subject
of the calendar event "sees" the keyword "vacation" in the subject?

TIA

I don't believe that's possible in Entourage. Basically, for calendar events
you set the category when it's created. If I understand correctly, this is
just for your imported events so is a one time change over.

Custom Views of the calendar events might be an easier way to find events
rather than using a search.

Look under Calendar Views. There are some default views for category that
will help in creating custom views for your categories.
