Assign task to a RBS department/group

Hi,

I've searched and searched, but i cant find a specific answer to my
question.

I am thinking of setting up the RBS with the following structure:

Corportion
Department A
Department A members
Department B
Department B members
Department C
Department C members

I would like to be able to set it up so that i can assign a department
to a task (say Deprtment B), and so that all people within that
department (i.e. users part of both "Department B" and "Department B
members" RBS codes) can see that task on their tasks page. In addition
to this, the user should be able to see their individul tasks. Is this
possible? If so, how?

Thanks,
Vish.

This is not possible in Project Server 2003, no matter how you set up the
RBS. I believe you can assign a team to tasks in Project Server 2007,
however. Hope this helps.

This is possible with PS2007 by using the team assignment pool. Basically
resources belong to the TAP, which can be assigned to tasks by the PM.

Each resource gets a notification of the task, the the first team member to
pick up the task becomes the task owner.

A quick follow on question if I may.
If a PM assigns a task to a TAP what effect will that have on resource
leveling?
Thank You
