Hi Stefan,
No, we customised normal, not replaced it. We added 3 different sets of
styles to normal. We had previously done this and had the shortcut keys
installed for users and they were working fine (for example - we had a set
of
numbered styles named Doc1, Doc2, Doc3 etc for numbers and had shortcut
keys
assigned). We have renamed this style to CKDoc1, CKDoc2 etc and have
added
new ones also. The shortcut keys assigned are no longer working.
We had thought after visiting this website taht an add-in was needed, but
this appears not to work.
HELP!

The point is that only Word can create normal.dot, but of course you can
*modify* an existing normal.dot. That doesn't mean that modifying *users*
normal.dot files is a good idea; in fact, I would advise against it. It
would make more sense to create a specific template for your custom
styles,
leaving normal.dot alone for users to customize the way they want to.

Are you saying that you have *replaced* normal.dot by renaming another
file
to "normal.dot"? If so, then you have also lost the settings stored in
the
original normal.dot (shortcut keys being one of those settings).
The appropriate
The proper thing to do this is to *customize* Normal, not replace it.

Good morning,
I have recently replaced the firms Normal.dot with a new normal.dot
with
customised Styles. Whilst the styles are working for all users, the
Shortcut
(or hotkeys) that I assigned to all the styles are now no longer
working
in
Normal.dot or any template that has been based off this.
Can someone assist me with this?
