Hi, I am trying to deploy a MSP 2007 Server environment and I have issues I
can’t solve. I setup an AD sync for all users in our CO and then added one
user to the PM security group. This PM published his project file to the
server but all his resources did not have tasks or notification of tasks. The
PM got all task notifications and task assignments.
For some reason the users that sync from AD have nothing for Default
Assignment Owner but users I created manually have their self as the Default
Assignment Owner. I had to manually go through all 3000 users to set them as
their own Default Assignment Owner.
I assumed this would correct the problem but the PM is still listed as the
Assignment Owner for all tasks and I am not able to change this because it’s
grayed out. (I am an Administrator)
I deleted the project from the server in hopes that republishing would
correct the problem. Same problem, the publisher is the Assignment owner for
all tasks even though each resource is their own Default Assignment Owner.
I deleted the project file from the server again and tried to work from the
file locally to remove all the Assignment owners (The PM) but they are grayed
out even on the local file so I can’t make anyone but the PM, Project
publisher the Assignment Owner for all tasks.
If I create a new project file myself it till make all resources their own
Assignment Owner.
So you ask why not just go back to the originally published file and
republish it. Well that file was published to the server and lots of
information entered before it was realized they the PM owned all the tasks.
It was then saved off the server after all resources were made their own
Assignment Owner but now I can’t find a way to remove the PM as the
Assignment Owner.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am losing my hair by the min.
