Assignment schedule changes after resource post progress

i am using "fix units" for all my tasks, the assignment basic units are 100%
and accordingly the schdule is 1d per day. the problem is, when a user update
progress through PWA more than 1d per assignment, the assignment units
changes accordingly and so does the schedue.
e.g. my task is 5 days --> project schedules it to start on monday and end
on friday(1 day per day). after the resource updated progress on the task -2
days. the assignment looks like that: resource[200%] and it schedule 2 days
per day.
the weird thing is, it doesnt happen to all the tasks. can you help me
understand why this is happening and how can i fix it? (other than delete the
units manually)
thanks
Yaara

Yaara:

The percentage changes to reflect the "peak" usage of the resource. This
doesn't change the underlying assignment contour. When you apply updates to
a task from PWA, Project automatically reschedules incomplete parts of the
task to occur after the update date. Does that help you make sense of this?

Hi Gary,
im afraid the peak units does change the underlying assignment contour and
that is my problem. i believe thats a bug but i wasnt able to distinguish
between the assignments it does happend to them and the ones the act as we
expect (keep scheduling in the future according to 100% units)
can you think of a reason why this is happening?

Yaara:

It is probably explainable, but not with the information you've provided. If
you want to pursue this discussion further you need to provide details of
your system patch level and all of the specifics for a particular assignment
where you witness this behavior.
