Assignment Units versus Leveling!

I have a Generic Resource which has Max Units set to 60%. the PM has set the
Assignments Units 150%. (Don't ask, or is this the issue?)

1. We do not use Admin Projects or Overtime.
2. Why doesn’t leveling apply more than Max Units to the task or does
leveling do anything at all to units?
3. How can I get Leveling to apply the extra hours in a single workday?
4. I am trying to get just a few tasks within a project with several hundred
task, to apply a constant duration to the execution of the tasks. Any
suggestions?
5. Our goal is to set up a testing effort which works 24 hours a day for 96
straight hours.
6. I have the task(s) set up for 96 work hours with a 24 hour by 5 day a
week calendar set up. Leveling appears to adjust the task duration, in this
scenerio. It changes the duration from the initial setup of 4 calendar work
days to something else, a longer calendar time.
7. How can I set up the task(s) to provide this constant duration regardless
of the leveling specified calendar start date?

Thanks in advance for any input!

Leveling does not adjust units.

If you want a task, such as your 24-hour tasks, not to be leveled, set its
priority to 1000.

Leveliong seems to have many definitions.
When the term is used I expect the resource to be leveled and the task start
date to be changed to aleveate the overallocated condition.
I have seen MS-Project Change assignment unts many times depending on the
constraint type chosen for the task.

When I choose "Fixed Duration I would expect the duration to be left
untouched and only the start date adjusted.

This is not a situation where leveling of resources is important only making
sure that the task is scheduled to be completed using the constraints
outlined.

I am curious what we are doing wrong and how to fix it so that duration does
not change put scheduling of the task to take into account the changes in the
schdule in other places.
