Assignment Views and Baseline Data

Can someone tell me how to get baseline data (Start date finish date) to
appear in an assignment views? The projects definetly have baselines. The
columns appear in the view but they are blank. Any help will be greatly
appreciated. I am trying to add them to the existing Assignment view in PWA
and I am also trying to add a new view. Thanks

You need to add the Baseline Start and Baseline Finish fields to the list of
Published fields in each project using the following steps:

1. Open a project
2. Click Tools - Customize - Published Fields
3. Add the Baseline Start and Baseline Finish fields to the list on the
right
4. Click the OK button
5. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments and click OK
6. Repeat this process for every enterprise project in your Project Server
database

Also, you should add these two fields to the list of Published fields in
every enterprise project template as well. Hope this helps.

Thanks, that helped a lot. I was doing everything you said except I was
choosing publish all info. I thought that would republish assignments also.
Am I wrong? Also, if I make the "Publish Fields" change to the global
template will that carry it across to all plans? I am concerned bout someone
creating a project plan and not using a template. Thanks for your help

Yes, your first assumption is wrong. Using Collaborate - Publish - All
Information is NOT the same as Collaborate - Publish - Republish
Assignments.

On your second assumption, you are also wrong. You must add the additional
Published Fields to EVERY project, and to EVERY enterprise project template
as well. You CANNOT add the additional Published Fields to the Enterprise
Global file, as it will have no effect on any projects in the system. The
Enterprise Global file serves only two purposes in Project Server:

1. It is your organization's "library" of custom enterprise Fields, Views,
Tables, Filters, Groups, Reports, etc.
2. It stores your organization's default currency.

To make sure that every new project contains the additional Published Fields
when created using a blank project file, tell your PM's to click the Set As
Default button in the Published Fields dialog the first time they add the
extra Published Fields. This will then add those extra Published Fields to
every new blank project. Hope this helps.
