Assignment work breakdown

Hi,

I need to calculate the work distribution on a day by day basis.
i.e. I have an assignment split over a week. I need to view the hours
per day just like the Resource Usage View.

I need the saved data that has not yet been published. Thus using the
View tables is out.
I tried using the Timephased_Data table but how the data is
stored/calculated from that is very confusing!

Can someone explain just how the hours for an assignment are broken
down by day?

Thanks in advance!

Project Server will only show day by day data for published projects and
best via a portfolio analyzer view from the cube.

You can extract timephased data directly from the MSP_ tables, but the data,
as you said, is not in a useful format. I suggest automatically opening the
projects in Project to see it in the resource usage view or you need to get
your projects published.

Have you considered using the View Resource Assignments page, available in
the sidepane of the Resource Center?

Yeah, that's the alternative.

So, there is no way to code this or to buy a solution that does this?

Yeah, that is the alternative for now.

So, there is no way to code this or no solution that can be bought that
does this, right?

If you want to code this, I would suggest that you post this question in the
microsoft.public.project.developer newsgroup, so you can tap their wisdom.
Hope this helps.

You can develop this in SQL reporting services. We typically use this
approach for solving client problems.
