Assignments Detail

Dave

When I look at a resource timesheet, I can click on the task line and it will
take me to the assignments detail page for the task. This provides me with
details on task history. I am the project manager for the project that this
task belongs to.

When a resource manager goes to a reports timesheet for approval, they click
on the task line and it gives them a security error.

Anyone know why they can't see the task informaiton for thier reports - is
it only allowing me due to the fact that I am the PM? Is there anyway to
open this up so that a resource manager can click on the task hotlink in the
timesheet and see the assignments detail page?

Each view has its own specific security. In this case, it sounds like you
have access to the Assignment Details page, but the resource manager doesn't.
I'd recommend that someone with Admin rights log into the server and take
a look at the Categories to which that view is assigned.

I do have admin rights to server.

Most of the views have a section that enables you to assign the security
categories, though this one does not. It is a My Work type view, name
Details, description Assignment Details Page. I believe that this is a
default veiw that came with the package.

The view has the normal name and type section, and a table and fields
section. There is nothing below that, which is where I would normally find
the security categories assignment.

Any idea?

I do have admin rights to check this out.

I believe this view is one of the defaults that comes with server. It is
type "My Work", name "Details", description "Assignment Details Page".
When I look at the information on the page, it has the normal "name and type"
section, "table and fields" section, though nothing under that, which is
where I would normally find security categories to add groups.

Any idea of how would assign the resource manager security category?

Huh. I guess you're right. Assignment Details must be one of the oddball
views. The options don't exist in the configuration of the View.

That being said, if you check out the Category settings, i.e. something like
My Direct Reports, you'll see that Details is unchecked there. Try checking
it in one of the Resource Manager's Categories and seeing what happens.

I must admit that I haven't played with Resource Manager functionality that
much, so it's a bit of a guess.
