Assistance With Drop Down List

M

Michelle

I am working on a customer satisfaction survey/questionnaire, where would like to have the question number question and then one column with a drop down box with the values of Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, Strongly Disagree, NA but I can not seem to get this to work. I have been able to create a check box and if the text is difficult I do not mind numbers instead 5=Strongly Agreee.... 0=NA but I am unable to figure out how to set this up using visual basic in Word as the preferred interface. Please help ... desperate :(

Hi Michelle

Your post is far from clear. I presume you've created a protected form, using FormFields
(inserted using the Forms toolbar). If this is the case then you need to add the values
to the FormField once you've added it to your document. Once you added the DropDown
FormField right click on it and then choose Properties. This displays a form "Drop-Down
Form Field Options". Type something into the "Drop-down item" text box and then click on
the Add button.

Since most of your DropDown FormFields will have the same value (Strongly Agree, Agree,
Disagree, Strongly Disagree, NA) you can set up the first and then copy and paste it.
After pasting it right click on it and select Properties and assign the FormField a unique
name. You can miss out this step but it's better not to as copying and pasting the
FormField duplicates its name.

Also to make the form easier to use I'd make "N/A" the first (default) value rather than
the last.

Finally select Tools>Protext Document>Forms then OK to use your document.
