Assistant Error - "not enough memory to support the operation"

I havent been able to afford a newer version of MS Office, when I installed
the office program on my newer latop the programs work but it wont allow me
to access the settings for the office assistant to change them. I can have
nothing running and it says theres not enough memory to support the operation
but there is plenty of memory on my system. Has anyone seen this or know how
to get around it?

Have you rebooted recently? I sometimes get this error (with all kinds of
apps, not just Office apps) when I need to reboot. I think it's got to do
with Internet Explorer, but I've not been able to track down the specific
issue.

I have even uninstalled then reinstalled. Once i reinstalled and restarted I
loaded just MS word and clicked on the assistant, options then clicked
gallery and got the error message. Is it because I am using vista now?

Ah, I should have looked more closely for an answer that fit your scenario
with the Office Assistant. Definitely check the link garfield-n-odie posted.
