Associating contacts with Journal/Task

How do we associate a contact with an Outlook 2007 Task or Journal Entry?

It seems that we used to have a field for entering a contact associated with
a journal entry or task, but there is no field in Outlook 2007. Ironically,
the listing pane for journal entries (sorted by category) includes a contact
column and lists contacts that are associated with a number of our journal
entries. These must be associations within a prior version of Outlook.

We would appreciate any help locating this field - THANKS

You need to enable that option - it is off by default in 2007 - heaven knows why?

Tools->Options->Contact Options->Show contact linking on all forms.

Perfect , Milly, that did the trick! Odd they turned it off. While I have
you could you answer one more question?

We need to maintain a business journal of meeting notes and activities in
Outlook 2007. We need to compile this information all in the same journal
for easy review, access, and printing. The problem is that notes entered
for a meeting in the calendar appointment dialog reside in a different place
(calendar) than the notes for daily activities in the journal. Apparently a
meeting appointment and notes in the calendar are not the same as a journal
entry.

How do we convert Outlook Calendar appointments to Journal entries and
vise-versa? Likewise, how do we convert Tasks to Journal Entries and
vise-versa? We have tried dropping a copy of the appointment in a journal
entry, but we always have trouble later trying to open the link to the
calendar saved in the journal. That is why we would prefer to copy a
calendar appointment or task into the journal and have it converted into a
journal entry.
