Asterisk is automatically added to the end of the query in SQL vie

Hi,

I have Access 2000, and when I created a query in my computer, the query
automatically adds the asterisk (*) to the end of the query design in SQL
view, but not visible in design view.

Then it causes problems when I try to run total queries.

The queries created in other computers don't have the asterisk in the end
and can be run in my computer.

Is this the bug from Access or is it because of the computer?

Thanks a lot for your input and help in advance!!!

You probably have the setting "on" for outputting all fields.

See File | Tools | Options | Tables/Queries tab -- deselect "Output all
fields" option.

Thanks Ken!!!!!!!!

It was indeed the reason.

A few days ago I met a problem and searched around and I might unknowingly
selected this option.

I really appreciate your very helpful solution.

Thanks again,
Laurie
