"At least IE version 6 is needed to use PWA" error

I have one user trying to connect to Project Server for the first time. He
gets this message "At least Internet Explorer version 6 is needed to use
Project Web Access" but he is actually using a version superior than 6, so
this is not the real problem.

I found some information on the internet
(http://forum.avantbrowser.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=18569) associting this
problem with a previous instalation of Avant Browser. He followed those
intructions: went to Start -> run -> wrote “RegEdit†and clicked Enter. Then,
followed this path
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\User Agent\Post Platform
and eliminated Avant Browser registry (he had also unnistalled Avant a long
time ago).

The problem remains. He cannot open PWA and gets the same message.

Any help on this?
Thanks in advance

Hello MP,

You can try following:

1) Add PWA URL as trusted site :

(On IE browser, Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Trusted
Sites -> Sites -> Enter the PWA URL -> Click OK)

2) On IE browser, Tools ->Internet Options -> Advanced ->Restore
Defaults -> Clik OK

Thanks
Chak

Hi Chak,

He already had the url on the trusted sites.
About the 2nd step you suggest, do you know exactly the change that has to
be done, without restoring ALL the default options in Advance Internet
Options?

Thank you,
MP

You have probably got past this by now but in case anyone else stumbles
across this thread this is what worked for me...

- Run regedit
- Make a backup of your registry
- Search for and delete all Avant browser references (don't delete keys
relating to the Avant Garde font)

(It seems that even after uninstalling Avant Browser it had left a load of
stuff in the registry).

Cheers,
Scott
