Attach a File as a Hyperlink in a Forwarded Message

Hi,

My org is running MS XP (on SP1) with Outlook 2003. Outlook is my email
editor, and I send messages in Rich Text format.

Why can't I insert a file as a hyperlink in a forwarded (or reply) message?

I click the Insert File icon in the message, select the file to insert, and
click on the drop down arrow next to the Insert button, but I only see the
following options: 'Insert', 'Insert as Text', and 'Insert as Attachment'.
Only in a new message do I see the fourth 'Insert as Hyperlink' option.

Is that just the nature of my settings selection? Is it possible to insert
files as hyperlinks in forwarded or reply messages when using Word 2003 as my
email editor, or in HTML message format?

Any insight you may have on this subject would be a great help!

Thanks!
Flo T.

Replying always goes into the same format as the original. Using RTF as the
default is not recommended.
Switch to HTML and set Word as you e-mail editor. Then you can use Insert->
Hyperlink... and browse to the file of choice.
