Attachements

I recently started using Outlook. When I send an attachement with an email
such as a Word Document, the receiver get a .dat file and not a doc file.
They think I am doing something wrong but I am not sending the file any
different than I did when I used OE. Is there a different way to send
attachement and why are my doc files turning into win.dat files?

Thanks

Change your message format from Rich Text to HTML or Plain Text.

Yes, some one else told me to do that and it does work. Thank you for you
input.

It is a shame that MS is not more robust that the text that you use in your
message changes the way the attached file is received. I would not have
thought they would go hand in hand.

Outlook Rich Text format is proprietary format purely for Outlook to Outlook
functionality and is needed for Outlook special features like voting
buttons, Meeting responses etc
