When my friend sends me a database file Access 2003 will
not allow me to open for security reasons. what do I
tell my friend to do so tht I may help help with his
database file and open it on my computer? Thank you

The simplest way is to have your friend rename the
extension to e.g.: "mdx" and then send the file. After you
save it to your hard drive rename it back to mdb.

Acutally, it would probably be a good idea to zip the database: they tend to
compress very well unless they've been encrypted.

I tried using changing the extension to .mdx and version
of Access (Office 2003) would not allow me to sned it in
that form. I tried the method of zipping the file and
that worked.
