attaching jpg files in outlook e-mail

I am a hotmail user and use Outlook for my e-mail. Recently I have been
trying to attach jpg files to my e-mails and find that they are converted to
winmail.dat. I can see this when I leave outlook and go directly to hotmail
and look at the message. It is there with theh .dat attachments. As a
result, the recipients of my messages are not getting the pictures. What has
changed in outlook?

Sounds like you're sending the message in Rich Text format. Choose HTML or
Plain Text.

I'll try. You are right I am using word on the front, and using rich text.
